Case Studies

The projects below (not yet accredited) show that hourly tracking is a technical reality globally. Join us as we collaborate with our community to scale Granular Certificates (GCs). This is just the beginning of our journey towards a more transparent and efficient energy future.

Matching for Google’s 24/7 CFE Goal

Country : Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific
Google has set an ambitious goal of operating on 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE). To reach this goal, they plan to scale the use of Time-based Energy Attribute Certificates (T-EACs or Granular Certificates) across their global carbon-free energy portfolio. Google’s challenge lies in retiring and gathering Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) and hourly meter data across their global portfolio into one platform to generate T-EACs. The lack of a standard format or integration mechanism for energy data makes this task tedious and complex. To gather the necessary data, Google has collaborated with Flexidao to fully digitize and automate hourly tracking, incorporating T-EACs across Google’s global carbon-free energy portfolio.

The Concept of 24/7 Bundled T-RECs Mechanism

Country : Taiwan
In the long run, when free trading renewable energy market is over 50% of total electricity market, renewable energy market should have a self-balancing mechanism to keep the power system stable. How to ensure the free trading renewable energy market to balance its own generation and consumption or even to reallocate the extra-investment for stabilizing renewable energy market will be a crucial issue for renewable energy market development and power system stable.
