UPDATER.Inc Provides 30 Minutes Matched Carbon Free Energy to 4,000 Consumption Sites Through “ENECTION”

UPDATER Inc. (“Minna-denryoku”) operates “ENECTION,” a commercial system that matches renewable energy generation with corporate electricity consumption on a 30-minute basis across Japan. Generation data from approximately 600 renewable energy sites, including solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal, is matched against consumption at roughly 4,000 sites with matching results recorded on a blockchain for transparency and traceability. The system uses a combination of a proprietary utility token and Japanese Non-Fossil Fuel Certificates (NFCs) as its tracking instrument, delivered through a bundled PPA. This approach reflects the principles of the EnergyTag Granular Certificate (GC) Scheme and Matching Standard, including 30-minute temporal matching and geographical matching. While not yet verified by an EnergyTag-accredited GC issuer, ENECTION data can be paired with GC issuers to enable granular carbon accounting.
